The Tjioe family’s legacy began in 1980 with a one-restaurant operation named Charming Garden, located at the Copthorne Orchid Singapore. A mere four years later, Andrew Tjioe, established Singapore’s leading innovative restaurant chain TungLok Group, with the opening of its flagship TungLok Restaurant, in Liang Court. Under Mr Tjioe’s leadership, the group has grown significantly since inception. 

It now owns and operates more than 35 restaurants both locally and regionally. Assisted by a team of highly qualified professionals, all of whom hail from the hotel, and food and beverage industry, the group reached and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2014.

The winning formula for TungLok can be summed up as ‘Providing the best of service, and serving the best of authentic Chinese food with a touch of creativity.’ Its multiple concepts offer a unique experience for customers whether they are casually meeting with friends, or celebrating a birthday, anniversary or wedding. All menu ingredients are strictly monitored and controlled by a dedicated Quality Assurance team to ensure individual restaurants receive the highest quality products for the brand’s distinctive culinary creations.

TungLok Group continues to increase market presence both locally and regionally. Outside of Singapore, its restaurants can be found in China, Japan and Indonesia. The recently opened Dancing Crab concept has already been successful in Tokyo and Jakarta.

Tóng Lè Private Dining received “Award of Excellence” at the G Restaurant Awards 2015 by Singapore’s luxury magazine, The Peak on 25 May 2015. Wine&Dine Top Restaurant Guide 2015; it won the House of Stars – “TWO STAR” award and “Best Rooftop Dining Award”. Singapore Tatler Singapore’s BEST RESTAURANT 2015 guide, it scored a Perfect “10” for food quality and aced in the rest of the category. 

TungLok Group has more than 15 years of catering experience. Its outdoor catering arm currently focuses on two major customer categories. TungLok Catering offers premium menus and setups, while Bellygood (Halal-certified), and Happy Chef are targeted at mid-market consumers. In addition to numerous other events, the company has successfully catered for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Convention 2007, and the Singapore Grand Prix (Formula One), since 2008 

The group has also won the Singapore Prestige Brand Award for Established Brands, and Andrew Tjioe, Founder and Executive Chairman, was awarded the prestigious ‘Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 – Lifestyle’ by the Global Accountancy Organisation, Ernst & Young.In April 2013, Andrew won the renowned ‘The 11th China Hotel Golden Horse Award’ which is recognized as the ‘Oscar’ of the China hotel industry. In May 2013, he became the proud recipient of the Epicure Excellence Award 2013.

The company’s pride and effort to train staff in ways that better serve customers, helped it win the WSQ Training Excellence Award in the Food & Beverage category.  

Keeping up with the market and trends, as well as maintaining a strong presence across various print media channels such as newspapers, magazines, and social media platforms, continues to fortify TungLok’s relationship with customers. Each of TungLok Group’s restaurant concepts and locations are unique, and feature their own respective in-store promotions that cater to different customer mixes and needs. In addition to established monthly and tactical promotions, the group prides itself on developing exclusive annual Chinese New Year specials, as well as Mooncake promotions, with new creations that appeal to a wide range of customer preferences and tastes.  

TungLok (which means “Happy Together” in Chinese) will continue to be Singapore’s favourite restaurant brand.
